This splash page from my coverless copy of "Military Comics" #3 (December, 1941) is an attractive example of aging comic book ink. Long exposure to light has faded what was originally solid cyan into a uniform light gray and turned the eagle at the center of the page's white space into a phantom. You'll see two bands across the eagle where the paper is whiter, and the eagle is bluer. This is where the comic book shop had labels on the plastic bag, while florescent light beat down on it for years.
